How Billiwix Designs came about!
I became a medically retired Deputy Head Teacher, having had a nasty car crash. I have always sewed. so I started to sew for family and friends, both for therapy and as a passion. I also relocated and bought a derelict barn in Scotland. Whilst visiting it one day, I saw an owl on the land. My Scottish friend said....
"Ooh! A Billywix"
So from that day, the barn became Billiwix Barn.
I changed the "Y" to an "i" and thus the name Billiwix was born. So the owls became my logo.
The hedgehog on the logo symbolizes the donations made to charities. Last year Prickly Prickles Hedgehog Rescue. This Year The Crafty Ark. (2023)
The rabbit and bunting are just a selection of items I sew.
The picture-style logo symbolizes my love for books and teaching. Thus the logo was created.
I sew an eclectic mix from bags to cushions to quilts and clothing.
My Ethos
To support a charity each year. I do this by donating a percentage of certain items.
And also sew for a mastectomy group, on a donation basis.
